Bermondsey Spa Sites E to U is two phases with mixed redevelopment of 4.5 acres of wasteland into private, shared ownership and affordable housing. In total the site will provide 5650 residential units, a supermarket and a health centre, which is in phase two and will provide room for eight doctors.

This site is one of the first medium-rise, high density schemes designed under recent ODPM and GLA initiatives, the phased scheme covers 50% of Southwark’s Bermondsey Spa Regeneration area.

Whitecode have designed a district heating network to serve all three sites, providing both residences with affordable, “always on”, heating and hot water, but also being low cost energy efficient.

Heat recovery ventilation and other energy saving measures help to make both phases achieve EcoHomes “Very Good” status.
