The redevelopment of the redundant St Andrew’s hospital next to the underground station, this development will provide up to 964 apartments of which 50% will be affordable housing in blocks ranging from 3-27 storeys, including a new health centre. The development is a partnership with the London Development Agency and is being designed by a consortium of Architects including Allies and Morrison, Glen Howells and MacCreanor Lavington.
Union is the second phase of this visionary development, which comprises of contemporary one, two and three bedroom apartments. In the heart of East London, these outstanding new homes provide easy access to the best the capital has to offer, and is positioned perfectly for the future. Great transport links by tube and DLR mean the City, the West End and Canary Wharf are all within easy reach.
Whitecode Design Associates Ltd have provided full mechanical and electrical designs for this scheme, which consists of 2,000m of underground district heating network, 6mW of gas boilers, 58,000litre thermal store and 600kW biomass boiler to meet the GLA plan for carbon reduction.
