DSEAR Report

DSEAR Risk Assessment Reports

Explosive atmospheres where there is a need to undertake assessments is often overlooked. Our trained Assessors can inspect your site and ensure compliance is within the relevant legal requirements, helping to minimise your site risks. DSEAR is the acronym for ‘Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations’ – 2002.

Services Overview

These regulations specifically state that employers are responsible for ensuring the safety of people within the workplace as well as any members of the public visiting their buildings. For developers, this means that, prior to the management of a gas or biomass powered energy centre, a risk assessment must be undertaken in accordance with DSEAR requirements. This is to ensure that the appropriate safety measures have been implemented and met.

This is where the Whitecode Group can help, by producing a detailed DSEAR Risk Assessment Report for your building’s energy centre.

Because the Whitecode Group has a wider knowledge of building design services and regulations, our team often identifies additional issues outside of the DSEAR regulations.

Where a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contractor has been employed by the developer, they may undertake the assessment themselves. Alternatively, the PPM may ask for a DSEAR assessment to be undertaken, prior to obtaining responsibility for the maintenance of a building. Our Building Design Services Engineers can consult with your team on what’s required and by whom.

By appointing the Whitecode Group to undertake your DSEAR Risk Assessment Report, your business will be ensuring the safety of both your employees and the general public. ATEX is a European Directive, and in the UK, the requirements of Directive 99/92/EC are put into effect through Regulations 7 and 11 of the DSEAR – 2002. It is therefore essential that a DSEAR Risk Assessment Report is completed.
