Whitecode has been involved since the planning stages on all blocks. We attend a fortnightly DTM to discuss site issues and programming, plus a weekly workshop to discuss the detailed design with the Client, Architect and Structural Engineer. Whitecode initially produced tender drawings for budgeting purposes and later produced fully coordinated construction layouts and schematics.

The site extends to 4.6 hectares (11.4 acres) of vacant brownfield land next to Barrier Park, the DLR and Silvertown. The development is being constructed in five phases comprising 7 blocks, which will provide 780 new homes, including 35% affordable, code 4 Sustainable Homes plus commercial and retail spaces. Outline permission for the scheme was granted in June 2009 and construction started in April 2010. The energy centre in phase 1 holds gas boilers, a 185kWe CHP unit, a 350kW wood pellet boiler and a 30,000 litre thermal store, which serves the whole development via underground pipes and heating substations in each block.
