Whitecode Consulting’s Technical Director is a Certified Heat Networks Consultant

24 Aug 2022

Whitecode Consulting’s Technical Director, Jason Tramontano, is a CIBSE Certification Heat Networks Consultant and is listed as a consultant on CIBSE’s new Heat Networks Consultants Register. He is one of only just over 100 consultants currently registered in England.

Registrants have been certified competent to the CIBSE CP1 Heat Networks: Code of Practice for the UK. The code was produced by CIBSE and the Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE) in collaboration with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), with the aim of raising standards across the supply chain. The Code specifies minimum requirements which must be met to produce a successful scheme and comply with the Code.

Jason said: “To be certified I had to demonstrate my competence, knowledge and understanding of the Code of Practice. I was assessed by examination. By gaining this industry certification, Whitecode Consulting’s clients can be confident that the guidance in the Code of Practice will be appropriately applied. However, at Whitecode Consulting we always look to move beyond the minimum requirements to future proof our designs and achieve the best outcomes for our clients.”

Whitecode Consulting is already recognised widely for its expertise in the design of efficient district heat networks. Award winning project, Echo Court in Harrow, west London was built under a joint venture partnership between registered social landlord, Origin Housing, and housebuilder, Hill Group. Whitecode Consulting were brought onboard by Hill Group as its Building Services Consultancy. Jason led the team involved in developing a design for the project’s heat network.

“The outcome for residents in Echo Court, was a low cost, low carbon heating system, with a heat loss of less than 100W per dwelling, making it an industry leading system in terms of performance. Whitecode Consulting has a proven record of success in this area, this certification further underlines the importance we place on the design and deliverability of such systems.

“Heat networks will be vital in ensuring that net zero becomes a reality in the UK. District heat networks need to be designed and built to the highest of standards to deliver a low energy future. Heat networks are a cost-effective way of providing a reliable and efficient low carbon heat and importantly, at a fair price to the consumer,” concludes Jason.
